Formerly editor-in-chief of Focus Magazine and IOL, he was also senior political editor at PortugalDiario and 24 Horas daily newspaper. He has worked as a reporter at a dozen other newspapers, radio stations and news magazines. João has written a bestselling book about Portuguese history, "12 Erros Que Mudaram Portugal" (or The 12 fumbles that changed Portugal).
